Phoenix Police Department Raids Pink Rhino Cabaret and Club Luxx

A pair of Phoenix nightspots were paid an unexpected visit by police officials Thursday — and the cops weren't there to break up any fights or haul off any inebriated patrons. On Thursday morning, Phoenix Police searched local strip club Pink Rhino Cabaret and newly opened downtown dance joint Club Luxx.

A media release issued by Sergeant Trent Crump of Phoenix Police Department states that search warrants were executed on both clubs in connection with an ongoing investigation into the possible conducting of a criminal enterprise. Police officials also conducted searches at other undisclosed locations.

While the scope of the search warrants has not been disclosed, local media outlets have reported that a slew of documents and property were removed from Pink Rhino by the cops during Thursday's search. However, there's been no word if anything was taken from Luxx.

Phoenix Police officials state that the investigation is focused on Pink Rhino, which has received more than 400 calls for service in the last four years. The cabaret, which is located near Van Buren and 36th streets, has been in operation since 2011.

Club Luxx, which is situated in downtown's club zone along Washington Street, opened earlier this month and held its grand opening last weekend.
According to records from the Arizona Corporation Commission and the Department of Liquor Licenses and Control, both clubs are party owned or managed by Carlos Aramburo, a resident of Laveen.

Pink Rhino and Luxx were both closed for business on Thursday. A much-hyped party hosted by actor Mario Lopez (a.k.a. A.C. Slater from Saved by the Bell) that was originally scheduled to take place at Luxx last night was moved to the neighboring Monarch Theatre.

Calls from New Times to Luxx's management for comment on the matter were not immediately returned.
